Meditation - Clearing Up Mind Space

My computer was acting slower through the minute. I knew it was time to clean out some files to allow extra space. Clearing this space would make it run better. If I hadn't cleaned things up, I would have had big problems on my hands.

I couldn't help but think that our minds are no different from the computer, as I was began going through files I didn't need anymore and deleting them. We can have big problems on our hands too if we don't do some clearing. Our minds can get so overloaded we can eventually turn off too.
It's been stated that we have upwards of 60,000 thoughts each day. A lot of those thoughts are identical ones. Moreover, our company is in contact with 5,000 advertising messages a day. No wonder, according to a recent CNN poll that eight out of ten Americans are stressed out! Americans feed their brains with non-stop news and information from television, the web, cell phones and i also-pods. It's not enough to simply watch the local news program anymore. There is an endless loop from the breaking news happening at the base from the screen. Emails buzz sometimes 24/7 on Blackberries and i also-Phones.
Fortunately, there exists a program to remove up mind space. It's called meditation. Meditation begins with being still and quiet. By meditating for just ten to twenty minutes a day, you can literally clear your mind from cluttered thoughts. You'll also relieve stress. That benefit alone eliminates a host of potential issues. Other benefits include becoming more tolerant, less judgmental and clearer inside your thinking.
Unlike pushing the delete button, however, meditation takes some practice initially. That's why they call it practicing meditation. Clearing the demands and thoughts placed on us is extremely hard; however, the rewards are worthwhile. Utilizing a guided practice through a CD will help tremendously. It really works just exactly the same way as employing an exercise tape or perhaps a taking a class to help in generating fitness results.
The better consistent you could be inside your meditation practice, the more your lifestyle is going to be transformed. Anything worthwhile takes effort. Setting aside a designated time, like in the morning, makes it much simpler. Plus, you will end up amazed the way it sets the tone during the day.
